Transfer table in new carbon lustre

Radio-oncology at Kantonsspital Winterthur has been irradiating tumours for over 100 years, today using state-of-the-art methods. Thanks to ongoing technical progress, these treatments are increasingly gentle on patients and tumours can be irradiated with ever greater precision.

Operating a linear accelerator is very cost-intensive. It takes a lot of time to prepare patients for treatment. Today, patients are positioned in the room of the linear accelerator. This means that valuable treatment time is lost. For bedridden patients, positioning is very time-consuming as the nursing staff are concerned about working gently. This prolongs the preparation of patients for treatment immensely. With a special transfer table, Dr Meier wants to gain treatment time for the linear accelerator and thus use this cost-intensive device more efficiently.
